• Insights and awareness: An Overview of the research findings in road safety in Moldova
• E-scooters as a new source of road traffice crash-related injuries in Armenia

Dr. Svetlana Cociu is an assistant professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Nicolae Testemițanu," Chisinau, Moldova. She recently graduated with her PhD in Public Health with the topic: Road Traffic Injuries and the Promotion of Healthy Road Safety Behavior. Her research interests include: health promotion and injury prevention; studying and evaluating the indicators of non-communicable diseases; global health; public health issues; ethical aspects of health; and modern methods of study, analysis, and interpretation. During the last 5 years, she actively participated in training courses abroad, more than 30 scientific works, abstracts at congresses and international conferences, and oral communications. She was recognized with special and honorary awards, recognition for research performance, government excellence, and the "Nicolae Testemitanu" nominal scholarships.

Kelli Kulikova is a doctoral candidate originally from Yerevan, Armenia. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Public Health. Since 2020, she has worked as a Professor's Assistant at Yerevan State Medical University. Since 2019 she has contributed to the Increasing Capacity in Eastern Europe (iCREATE) Fogarty project with colleagues at the University of Iowa College of Public Health, focusing on innovative solutions for public health challenges. With over 10 published articles, Kelli's research primarily centers on violence and injury prevention, utilizing data from hospitals for her analyses at the university.

Both presenters are funded through iCREATE: Increasing Capacity in Research in Eastern Europe, an NIH Fogarty training grant intended to expand successful capacity building in injury and violence research and education in Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova. Training is led by a strong collaborative team at the University of Iowa in the United States and the University of Babes-Bolyai in Romania. Dr. Cara Hamann, Epidemiology, is the Principal Investigator along with Co-Principal Investigators, Dr. Diana Dulf, Babes-Bolyai University and Dr. Corinne Peek-Asa, University of California San Diego.
