Our Black Is Beautiful

Learning to embrace your inner and outer beauty, improve self-esteem and challenging the idea of beauty. 

FREE FOOD (CHICK-FIL-A)

Discussion: 

What is “BEAUTY”? How is beauty different in diverse cultures? What separates the African American’s image of beauty apart from the African or Indian Cultures’? Join us at the Afro House and discuss how the European Standard of Beauty dominates the Media and other minoritized cultures. We will discuss how people with different ethnicities assimilate to the idea of what beauty is, as driven upon them by dominant culture or the media. Finally, we will host an open discussions about the struggles that we have faced and how we have earned to accept them in our own journeys. 

Workshop: (Self-care section) 

FREE hair, facial and body natural care products 

Come learn about how to mix essential oils and make your own hair product. As well as the right facial and hair products that are specifically designed for you. Also learn about what works best for your skin/hair and what doesn’t.
