Social Justice Brown Bag discussion series - Hunger Does Not Discriminate: Overcoming Stigmas of Poverty & Food Insecurity
This Brown Bag series will address the vital role food pantries play in fighting poverty and food insecurity in your community. Local nonprofit Executive Directors Kaila Rome and John Boller are working to reduce hunger in Johnson County through their respective organizations, the North Liberty Community Pantry and the Coralville Community Food Pantry. Our presenters will highlight the collaborative ways in which they pursue systems-level change as well as provide an interactive glimpse into the life of our neighbors struggling to access life's most basic need: food.
This noon-hour workshop is FREE and open to the public.
