Description:
This session will explore the social, cultural, historical, and economic aspects of China and present an introductory overview of how the Chinese society maintains and changes its traditions, customs, and daily etiquettes. Furthermore, it will analyze how Chinese people interact with people from the U.S. and other regions as well as how China moves along with the rest of the world in the modern days from historical and contemporary perspectives.
Participants who attend this session will be able to:
- discuss and reflect upon the geography, history, traditional philosophies and values, customs, and daily etiquettes of China
- identify and evaluate ways of more effective communications to promote interpersonal relationships with Chinese people
- contextualize and apply multiple perspectives to current sociocultural events and global issues
