Seminar Lecture Title: Novel Experimental Therapeutics for the Interventional Pain Physician to Treat Chronic Locoregional Pain
Dr. Andreas Beutler is a Principal Investigator in the field of chronic pain research and an ABIM board certified medical oncologist with a special interest in cancer pain and chronic pain syndromes in cancer survivors. He will present his recent research on novel analgesic drugs and on Adeno-Associated Virus (AAV) gene vectors for chronic locoregional pain syndromes. His laboratory emphasizes testing in large-animal models (swine) as a bridge to the clinic and collaborates with interventional pain specialists on the development of image-guided interventional procedures to deliver the novel therapeutics to individual spinal nerves or dorsal root ganglia (DRG).
