Now in its 12th year, the Piano Sundays concert series at the Old Capitol Museum has showcased the most talented University of Iowa faculty and students in the Piano Area in the UI School of Music. Each concert is supported by West Music of Coralville and presents a unique set of musical selections ranging from Bach to Bartok, Jenni to Ginastera, Mozart to Mussorgsky and more!

Open to the public in 1976 as a National Historic Landmark and museum presenting early University of Iowa and territorial and state history, the Old Capitol Museum is honored to offer this special ongoing musical series that highlights the rich sounds of the beautifully restored 1878 Steinway Centennial Style Concert Grand. The Steinway was purchased in 2006 with an in-kind donation from West Music and has been featured in over 150 performances in the historic Senate Chamber.

The concert is free to attend and open to the public. Seating is limited so please arrive early.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact in advance at
