Did you know…

  • Half of men with Type 2 diabetes will develop erectile dysfunction within 10 years of diagnosis?
  • The most common cause of erectile dysfunction is heart/vascular disease?

Fortunately, you can lead a normal life even if you have diabetes and/or heart disease—if you’re willing to take control of your health with lifestyle changes and the right care plan.

Whether you have Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes or you think you’re at risk, the University of Iowa Men’s Health Program invites you to a frank discussion with our experts, where you’ll learn about the effects of diabetes on a man’s quality of life, including:

  • Erectile dysfunction: Treatment options to restore your sexual function
  • Your total health: Changing your lifestyle for better health while watching out for signs of other issues, like high blood pressure and heart disease

Enjoy light refreshments, hear an inspirational story of better health from a fellow diabetic, and participate in a Q&A session. Spouses or guests are welcome to attend.

You’ll meet these UI Health Care experts:

  • Urologist Amy Pearlman, MD

  • Endocrinologist Yumi Imai, MD

  • Cardiologist Linda Lee, MD
