Fox Day

The Museum of Natural History presents...FOX DAY! Join us for a fam-friendly, fun-filled morning all about FOXES!

Museum staff will have a craft station set up in Bird Hall for take-home creations. Museums staffer, Cody Crawford will have a station set up to share fox facts about current fox populations in Iowa, typical habitats, conservation efforts, and the foxes in our museum collections. PLUS Vesta The Fox will be here, too! Vesta will be in the Biosphere with her caregiver Amber Oldfield. Amber who is a Wildlife Rehabilitation Specialist will participate in a public Q and A about how she came to care for Vesta, what that care looks like, and any other questions you might have! We want you to see Vesta and how beautiful and majestic a real, live fox can be, but please keep in mind that Vesta is a wild animal who could be spooked by loud noises so guests are invited to think like a fox while in her space - be sly and quiet :)

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact in advance at
