New Yorker poetry editor Kevin Young will read from and talk about his work, in conversation with Tameka Cage Conley. The New York Times wrote “Keeping up with [Kevin Young] is like trying to keep up with Bob Dylan or Prince in their primes.”

Kevin Young is the Director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. He is the author of thirteen books of poetry and prose, most recently Brown, a New York Times Notable Book. His collection Jelly Roll: a blues was a finalist for both the National Book Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Prize. Young’s nonfiction, Bunk: The Rise of Hoaxes, Humbug, Plagiarists, Phonies, Post-Facts, and Fake News, was longlisted for the National Book Award. Named University Distinguished Professor at Emory University, Young was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2016.

A reception and signing in the café will follow.
