Ivy Wilson, Northwestern University, “Formless Forms: Whitman and the Shape of American Poetry.” Wilson is the author of Specters of Democracy: Blackness and the Aesthetics of Nationalism (2011) and editor of Whitman Noir: Black America and the Good Gray Poet (2014).
“Walt Whitman at 200: The Bicentennial Symposium” accompanies the exhibit “Walt Whitman: A Bicentennial Celebration,” University of Iowa Main Library Gallery, curated by Stephanie M. Blalock, Brandon James O’Neil, and Ed Folsom. All events will be held in the Main Library Gallery, first floor, North Entrance.
