Informed Consent Process Workshop
Apr 18, 2019
01:30 PM - 03:00 PM
Center for Disabilities and Development, (Remboldt Conference Room) 115
330 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, IA 52242
The informed consent process is not simply signing a sheet of paper. The consent process exists to educate prospective participants on why they may or may not want to participate in the study. While it is important to have a well-written consent document, researchers should also have a well-thought out process for using it, since a well-written informed consent document can be undercut by not having a proper plan. Join this workshop to discuss:
- Common barriers to conducting a proper consent process
- Ways to improve your consent process
- New requirements to the informed consent process found in the Revised Common Rule.
Pre-registration is recommended at https://uiowa.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8Bckk84eJuOTO4t.
