The UI DeGowin Blood Center is coming to North Liberty on Tuesday, July 2nd for a blood drive. The drive will be held in the basement of the North Liberty Recreation Center from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All blood collected is used locally to help patients at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.  Help us fill up before Independence Day and save a life by donating with us!

All successful donors will receive a clear tote, great for taking into Iowa Football Games. Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred and help us to better plan for the drive. To schedule an appointment, please visit uidegowinbloodcenter.org or give us a call at 319-356-2058.

• General Donor Information
  • Donors must bring a photo I.D. when they donate.
  • Be in general good health.
  • Be at least 17 years old or 16 with special consent.
  • Be cold and flu symptom free for 5 days.
  • Eat a full meal within 4 hours of donation.
  • Drink plenty of fluids before donating.
  • It is recommended to increase the amount of salt in your diet the day prior to donating.
  • Weigh at least 110 lbs.
  • Bring a list of current medications.
  • Bring a list of places visited outside the U.S. in the past 3 years, including travel dates.
