ABOUT THE HEALTHCARE BUSINESS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM:
Now in its fourth semester, the Healthcare Business Leadership Program, helps Doctor of Pharmacy students, residents and practitioners with business acumen and leadership skills.
Fall Module 1 - October 5
Principles of Entrepreneurship for Pharmacists
This module, presented by Kurt Heiar, MBA, will focus on explaining how business models work while teaching participants the basics of creating business plans. Learn how innovation in healthcare impacts pharmacists and how they can play a role as entrepreneurs in the community.
Kurt Heiar is an Iowa JPEC lecturer and lead instructor for UI’s Statewide Venture School Program. Heiar has been the President & CEO of four early-stage companies to date, including Immortagen, Inc., a women's cancer diagnostics company named UI Start-Up of the Year for 2016. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring students about entrepreneurship.
