Who are the new Americans in the University of Iowa workplace? This training workshop will help participants recognize and value cultural differences at work.

By familiarizing ourselves with new Americans' origins and stories, we can find deeper ways to develop cultural awareness and respect our mutual values. Participants will be asked to share stories and concerns in small groups as we navigate the path to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

This event is sponsored by Staff Language and Culture Services, a division of University Human Resources. It's open to all University of Iowa employees. Register via My Training in Employee Self Service—search for course number 975.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact in advance at
