Title: Instructional resources that promote visualization of chemical phenomena

Abstract: This presentation will highlight the development of two drastically different instructional resources aimed to promote the visualization of chemical phenomena. In one case the process is grounded on an analogy framework to study localized surface plasmon resonance while the Cognitive Model of Drawing Construction serves as the foundation for the development of 3D printed macromolecules to study non-covalent interactions.  Qualitative assessment of these instructional materials will be shared to show how the richness of the data is an asset for the interpretation of findings. Our studies show evidence of effective analogical transfer and knowledge integration.
