We are excited to announce the opening of our Exploring White Identity for Effective Allyship workshop! In alignment with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Plan, we are proud to host this event for the fourth year running. We will have a session on Thursday, November 21st from 9am – 12pm and on Thursday, February 21st from 9am – 12pm. Both sessions will take place in the Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, within the University Capitol Centre, suite 2750.

This extended workshop strives to hold honest, intentional conversations around white identity and allyship. We wish to create a space to explore our relationships to power, oppression, and our collective history in order to better serve our students and community. We encourage you to bring your questions and an open mind as we discuss strategies for more equitable practices in our work. Relying on skilled facilitation, group dialog, and years of scholarly research, we will navigate the complex nuances of racial identity. No prior experience is required.
