Abstract:

This talk will first highlight the vision of the National Science Foundation and the organization and goals of the Division of Chemical, Bioengineering, Environmental, and Transport Systems (CBET) within the Engineering Directorate at NSF. The scope and future directions of the Thermal Transport Processes Program will then be discussed along with a number of project highlights. Several Transport Phenomena cluster-wide solicitations and interagency initiatives will be introduced. The lessons learned from the implementation of the no-deadline policy for the unsolicited proposals will be discussed. Finally, a few cross-cutting, Foundation-wide programs, including CAREER, CSSI, CDS&E, GCR, AI Institutes, and NSF Big Ideas will be introduced.
