The Building University of Iowa Leadership for Diversity (BUILD) initiative is an opportunity for UI faculty, staff, and graduate students to gain strategic knowledge and skills to contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. By completing a series of workshops, participants will earn a certificate demonstrating their commitment as leaders for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and classroom.

The session is a collaboration between the Office of the Provost, Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and University Human Resources. Within the session, participants will begin making the shift from diversity to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We will review tools, resources, and strategies for integrating and or advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion into local plans. For units with planning teams, we encourage 2-3 individuals from your team to attend one of these workshops and return to the unit to facilitate unit discussions and planning.

To register for UI campus courses, log-in to UI Employee Self Service, click on "My Training" to be rerouted to Learning and Development, and click on the “Enroll in Courses” tab. Then use the search fields to find the desired sessions.
