Ida Cordelia Beam Distinguished Visiting Professor: Holly Hughes "Indelible: Christine Blasey Ford as Performance Artist"

Holly Hughes in performance

Veteran sapphist story teller Holly Hughes returns to answer one of human kind’s most burning question: what is the difference between performance art and theater by taking us back to that fateful day in 2018, in the US Senate, when Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, assault survivor and daredevil performance artist faced off against master of melodrama, Brett Kavanaugh. Where does the melodrama end and the endurance art begin?

An internationally acclaimed performance artist, Holly Hughes is Professor in the School of Art and Design and the Department of Theatre and Drama at the University of Michigan. A Q&A with Professor Hughes will follow the lecture/performance.
