Virtual Event

This fall, the Research Development Office is hosting a virtual eight-week Neuroscience, Development, and Mental Well-Being Ideas Lab (two hours per week through September 20-November 8) where attendees will have a unique opportunity to explore this topic, develop innovative approaches to this complex problem together, and compete for feasibility funding. By leveraging the university’s unique research and scholarship expertise, you have an opportunity to make a significant contribution to this challenging topic. During our time together, we will draw from a diverse group of minds and disciplines to examine how we assess mental health in infancy through adolescence and connect it to physiological changes in the brain and body.

Eligibility Criteria

All UI personnel from any discipline who are faculty, research staff, postdocs, and advanced graduate students are eligible to apply. We are seeking representation from diverse disciplines, which will contribute to the creation of novel approaches to this challenge.

How to Apply

Complete the application here by Friday, July 16 to be considered for becoming a Neuroscience, Development, and Mental Well-Being Ideas Lab Fellow. Applicants will be notified by August 6th regarding their participation in the Ideas Lab. Please note, participation requires committing to all eight weeks of the Ideas Lab.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact in advance at
