Anne Frank

Curated by the Anne Frank Center USA, the Let Me Be Myself exhibit provides an in-depth history of Frank and her family, connecting Anne’s experiences to those of contemporary teens who have experienced prejudice and discrimination. The exhibition parallels Frank's life story with the present and makes the fate of the millions of victims of the persecution of the Jews during the Second World War personal and palpable.

After the exhibit leaves the UI, it will travel to a half dozen Iowa communities. This state-wide initiative is funded by the University of Iowa International Programs Provost’s Global Forum.

Old Capitol Museum exhibit hours: Friday & Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

This exhibit is free and open to all. Guests may visit any time during open hours for a self-guided tour. Guided peer tours are available only for middle school, high school, and college class groups and may be requested HERE.

This event is part of the Anne Frank Tree: Taking Root in Iowa event series.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact in advance at
