Join the University of Iowa Libraries for a special open house event! See We Are Hawkeyes: Celebrating 175 Years of Student Life at the University of Iowa, the new Main Library Gallery exhibit honoring the university’s anniversary year, and hear remarks from President Barbara J. Wilson, Jack B. King University Librarian John Culshaw, and exhibition co-curators David McCartney and Aiden Bettine. Grab-and-go refreshments will be available, and Herky will make a special appearance. 

Event Schedule:  

1:00 PM – Remarks in Shambaugh Auditorium, next door to the Main Library Gallery 

  • President Barbara J. Wilson 
  • John Culshaw, Jack B. King University Librarian 
  • David McCartney, university archivist 
  • Aiden Bettine, community and student life archivist 

1:30 PM – Open house with the curators, Main Library Gallery (until 3:00 PM) 
1:45 PM - Meet and greet with Herky (until 2:45 PM)
3:00 PM – Event ends, Main Library Gallery remains open  

Note: The Main Library Gallery will be open for extended visiting hours on Saturday, February 26 from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
