Ten-Minute Play Festival

The University of Iowa Department of Theatre Arts is proud to present the 25th Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival. Join us for the premiere of these undergraduate playwright’s new works!

The Ten-Minute Play Festival features ten-minute productions that are written, acted, designed, and run by undergraduate students. Support these students in a night that will have something for everyone.

There will also be a staged reading of select works at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19.

Office Hours

Two students have to meet with their film professor to discuss their "no audio no visual" project. Let's just say art is subjective.

Flatline

For most, a trip to the emergency room is stressful but for Jack, it’s a nightmare.
This production contains depictions of mental illness and self-harm and will include loud flatline noises and the sound of vomiting.

Dave's Pizza
Written and directed by Alice Doherty
Everyone's favorite hometown restaurant is closing its doors forever due to COVID-19. It's the last day before the owner hands over the keys, and there's not much to do besides reminisce and take shots in the kitchen. The unexpected arrival of a former coworker forces the last employees left to reckon with the darker side of the institution that was Dave's Pizza and decide where their loyalties lie–and whose story to believe.
This production contains depictions of sexual assault.

Tickets:
Tickets for the Ten-Minute Play Festival are available in the Theatre Building lobby one hour before show time.
Tickets are free for University of Iowa students (with a valid ID) and $5 for general admission.
