Science Cafe: "Deaths of Despair; and What is Happening to America's Health"
Death rates in Americans have been basically improving since the beginning of the 20th Century. However, beginning in the decade before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, death rates began to rise and life expectancy began to fall. Dr. Wallace will show what has been happening, and will attempt to explain the reasons for these adverse changes, including those occurring during the pandemic.
