Chat From the Old Cap: Transforming Television

Join two Iowa graduates and an award-winning TV power couple as they discuss how they have transformed modern-day television through their work as writers and producers for HBO’s mega-hit series The Sopranos.

Mitchell Burgess (78BA) and Robin Green (77MFA) have written and produced some of the most highly acclaimed television shows over the past two decades including The Sopranos, Blue Bloods, and Northern Exposure. Their work rejects standard tropes in favor of exceptional storytelling. Their dynamic work has been recognized by every major award in their field for their work.

The pair have crafted Emmy and Golden Globe winning tales throughout their distinguished careers and have remained loyal to the University of Iowa — which they say helped launched their personal and professional partnership.
