Artist Talk with Aimee Lee
A Century of Hanji: Korean Paper and its Keepers
Aimee Lee will compare Korean papermaking, documented in the early 20th century, with 21st century efforts both in Korea and the U.S. to preserve its traditions. Her own trajectory into hanji research will be illustrated alongside the core discussion, complemented with images, videos, and paper samples. Lee is an interdisciplinary artist who works with handmade paper and the leading hanji (Korean paper) researcher and practitioner in the United States.
