The University of Iowa School of Art and Art History is excited to announce an invitational exhibition and related symposium featuring the work of over 50 faculty and graduate students in ceramics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville; The University of Colorado, Boulder; The University of Florida, Gainesville; The University of Iowa; Penn State University; and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
The exhibition is scheduled from Aug. 29 to Sept. 30, 2022, in The University of Iowa Visual Arts Building E100 (Drewelowe Gallery), Lasansky Atrium, and E260 (Ana Mendieta Gallery).
The associated symposium is scheduled for Sept. 22 and 23, and will feature lectures, demonstrations, and a tour of the new Stanley Museum of Art. Events take place Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22 and 23, as well as a keynote lecture Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. with California studio artist Amy Santoferraro, and will close with a reception for the exhibition Friday, Sept. 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
All events are free and open to the public, and attendees are invited for symposium events (detailed below) beginning at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, at The University of Iowa Visual Arts Building main ceramics studio, room W221.
