Introduction to DBT, Level 2: A Deeper Dive into Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Please Register Online. TLC Credit: IS (T), SEBH
Presenter: Amy Kahle, Director of Intervention Programs for the United Action for Youth
This session will be a quick review of the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) concepts from Level 1 and a deeper dive into applying them in practice. How does Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) fit into a trauma informed classroom? Who benefits from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)? What might implementation look like? Can I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in my science (or math or English) class?? What do youth say about the skills they've learned? Time will be given to workshop using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) concepts in all areas of education.
Examples of mindfulness practices that can be used in the classroom will be included throughout the session.
Note: This is not a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training, but an overview of the practice and an example of how it might be implemented.
