Cotten Seiler is Professor of American Studies at Dickinson College. He is the author of Republic of Drivers: A Cultural History of Automobility in America (University of Chicago Press) and the editor of Transfers: Interdisciplinary Journal of Mobility Studies. His work has appeared in publications such as American Quarterly, Public Culture, Social Text, American Studies, the Guardian, and The Conversation. He is completing a manuscript analyzing the racial history of infrastructure provision in the United States.
