Engaging students can be challenging. Learn how to apply evidence-based teaching methods in a way that enables students and instructor to feel authentic and comfortable in the classroom. Led by Samantha Warren, a Center for Teaching graduate teaching fellow from the UI Department of Math.

The Center for Teaching, part of the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology, advocates for effective, evidence-based, reflective teaching and acts as a collaborative partner in sparking and shaping conversations about higher education. As experts in scholarship on teaching, facilitators, and experienced college instructors, the staff utilize research and theory to design and lead programs that center equity and excellence in teaching and learning through faculty, graduate student, and organizational development.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact in advance at
