Black History Month lecture: "The Weakest Link: Improving Health for Some of the Sickest Among Us”

Melva Thompson-Robinson, DrPH, is a professor in the School of Nursing as well as the former executive director of the Center for Health Disparities Research at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  

She is also a former co-chair of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Region 9 Health Equity Council. She has extensive experience in conducting research in and working with communities of color in Las Vegas and throughout the country. Her work focuses on health disparities and health equity, particularly in HIV prevention. She is currently working with a national research team to look at the impact of stress and coping related to COVID-19, particularly among communities of color.  

She will present "The Weakest Link: Improving Health for Some of the Sickest Among Us” via Zoom.
