The Graduate College offers webinars to support students applying for prestigious national fellowships. These webinars introduce graduate students to new opportunities, clarify application components, and connect students with campus support for the application process. No prior experience with fellowships is required.
The NIH F31 Overview webinar is an introduction aimed primarily at graduate students and will include Q&A opportunities. See eligibility requirements for NIH F31 below.

  • Open to PhD students in research-based programs in a scientific health-related field that will be in the dissertation stage of training at the time of the award (must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Click here for full eligibility details.)
  • Fellows receive up to five years of support with a $26,352 stipend and a $16,000 cost of education allowance each year. An additional child care cost budget can be requested.
  • UI graduate student applicants are also eligible for the Fellowship Incentive Program (FIP).
