Virtual Event

Designed for graduate students interested in reflecting on their teaching practice or preparing materials for the job market, participants will explore the components of a teaching portfolio and learn how to express a statement of teaching philosophy with the help of UI faculty members and Center for Teaching staff. Registrants will be invited to attend a live Zoom workshop on editing teaching portfolios and statements hosted by the Center for Teaching and Grad Success. Oher interactive elements will be announced during the semester.

Available Monday, Aug. 21, to Friday, Dec. 8. Participants will have permanent access to a resource-filled ICON site.

The Center for Teaching advocates for effective, evidence-based, reflective teaching and acts as a collaborative partner in sparking and shaping conversations about higher education. As experts in scholarship on teaching, facilitators, and experienced college instructors, the staff utilize research and theory to design and lead programs that center equity and excellence in teaching and learning through faculty, graduate student, and organizational development.
