Save to My Events

mahogany is about the passing of time and unimaginable loss, strength, humor, and love. The book takes its name from the dark wood prized for its durability, workability, and elegant look, and from the Diana Ross movie, whose theme song asks if what lies ahead is what you really want. This book is the third in a trilogy, and like the first two books it is steeped in pop music.

erica lewis was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is based in San Francisco. Her books include the precipice of jupiter, camera obscura, murmur in the inventory; and the first two books of the box set trilogy: daryl hall is my boyfriend and mary wants to be a superwoman.

On December 22, 2018, the 40th anniversary of Bernadette Mayer's writing of Midwinter Day, 32 women poets—including Becca Klaver—composed alongside each other all day, following the six-part structure of Mayer's book, dozens of cursors blinking in a virtual happening. Midwinter Constellation is the result. Part patchwork quilt, part collective consciousness, the book hopes "to prove the day like the dream has everything in it," as Mayer wrote in 1978, and to extend her vision into a global 21st-century everyday.

Becca Klaver is a writer, teacher, editor, scholar, and literary collaboration conjurer. She is the author of the poetry collections LA Liminal, Empire Wasted, and Ready for the World, as well as several chapbooks.
