Byoung Yoong Kang is a South Korean novelist, essayist, translator, and scholar based in Slovenia. Born in Seoul in 1975, he holds degrees in creative writing and Russian literature. Kang’s work, known for its blend of humour, fantasy, and social commentary, has been published in over 20 books across several languages, including Korean, English, Russian, Slovenian, German, Bulgarian, and Portuguese. In 2022, he took part in the International Writing Program (IWP) residency in Iowa.
