Study of the Neutrino Magnetic Moment with the NOvA Near Detector
Professor Yannick Meurice; Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Iowa
We introduce the basic operations of quantum computing using the analogy with Stern-Gerlach experiments. We discuss the motivations for quantum computing in the context of high energy physics. We present recent work by students at the University of Iowa regarding real-time evolution in lattice models and analog quantum simulations. We present a quantum Hamiltonian for scalar electrodynamics and propose two different quantum simulators for this model obtained by assembling arrays of Rydberg atoms.
