Intramural Softball Registration
Event Information: We know that our students want more softball, and a chance to play in the spring. While we can't schedule a full league due to unreliable weather in the spring semester, and conflicts with the Iowa Softball team's schedule, we will be holding a weekend tournament! Register for your chance to come on out, play some spring softball, and have a shot at winning an Intramural Champion T-shirt. Whether you win or not, our tournament will be a good time!
Registration Information: Pre-Registration begins on Monday, Aug. 19 at 8 a.m. During Pre-Registration, captains can start their teams, and begin sending invitations to teammates to build the roster. Once official registration opens on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 8 a.m., teams that meet the minimum player requirements (eight players on the team roster) can move to the "Tournament" division to confirm/complete their registration before registration closes on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Finalizing registration cannot be done until minimum player requirements have been met. Sport Date and Time: The Weekend Softball Tournament will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. Games each day could begin as early as noon, and last throughout the day, depending on the number of teams registered.
Leagues Available: Open is the only league available for the Weekend Softball Tournament. An "Open" league means there are no gender requirements for team composition.
Sport Location: The tournament will take place at the Hawkeye Softball Complex. Information on how to get to the Hawkeye Softball Complex from main campus can be found here.
Sport Format: Teams will be placed into pools of three and play a true round robin against all other teams in their pools on Saturday, April 26, the top two teams from each pool will advance to a single elimination bracket played on Sunday, April 27. Each team is guaranteed two scheduled games.
Intramural Membership: Participants must have a 2024-2025 Fall and Spring Membership, a Spring 2025 Semester Membership, or a 2024-2025 Tournament Pass to participate. Memberships can be purchased here, or participants without memberships will be prompted to purchase one upon registering.
