ACS Presents Federal Sentencing Reform: A Conversation with Ret. NDIA Judge Mark Bennett
How can courts and court partners help tackle the ever-pervasive issue of mass incarceration in the United States? For Judge Mark Bennett, who sat on the federal bench in the Northern District of Iowa for 25 years and currently serves as Director for Drake University's Institute for Justice Reform and Innovation, sentencing reform is a vital part of the conversation when answering this question. Hear from Judge Bennett as he joins us to discuss vitally needed future reforms such as the abolition of mandatory minimums, as well as the impact of recent reforms like the First Step Act of 2018.
