Title of talk: “Finishing to Startup: Identifying the value of the Researcher in a new company”
Dr. Infanger, a University of Iowa PhD graduate, will discuss his career choices and path that led from Academia into the 10-year start-up company SilkTech Biopharmaceuticals, Ltd. He will introduce the challenges and rewards of introducing novel research ideas into the business world, and discuss the process of navigating regulated science from bench-top to patient. Lastly, the talk will highlight the story of silk-derived protein, a discovery of SilkTech which has successfully completed two Stage II clinical trials.
