Description: In this workshop, students will gain hands-on experience participating in and designing STEAM activities using 3D design software and 3D printers. For the hands-on STEAM challenge, students will get to choose between making a keychain or jewelry. They will also learn about other 3D design tools and be provided with additional resources and ideas for activities they might facilitate in their classrooms. Finally, they'll have an opportunity to try designing their own STEAM activity using 3D design tools and 3D printers. Please bring a laptop to the workshop if possible as you will need it for some of the hands-on and collaborative activities.
Learning Objective:
1. To become familiar with a variety of makerspace tools, technologies, and materials. 2. To develop the necessary skills and mindsets for facilitating integrated STEAM learning experiences for students. 3. To learn how to design and facilitate interest-driven, inclusive, and culturally sustaining STEAM activities.
