Description: Individuals with dyslexia are more likely to experience depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem as compared to individuals without reading disorders. The aim of this workshop is the review the socioemotional factors associated with dyslexia so that educators can identify appropriate supports for students.
Learning Objective:
Students will be able to describe how dyslexia may influence socioemotional, behavioral, and mental health of students. Students will be able to describe five strategies or tools they can use to create a supportive learning environment for students with dyslexia.
