Participants will learn valuable helping skills, goal setting techniques, ethical practices, and how best to make referrals to the Pomerantz Career Center. Career Connectors takes a hands-on and practical approach to training. It is comprised of a comprehensive three-part training program designed to prepare our faculty and staff to better assist students in their career exploration, experiential education, and preparedness for the job search or graduate school process. We provide real-world examples, case studies, ideas for the classroom, and interactive exercises to ensure that faculty and staff gain actionable knowledge they can immediately apply in their roles as career connectors. Participants will learn valuable helping skills, goal setting techniques, ethical practices, and how best to make referrals to the Pomerantz Career Center. 

In Session 1, participants will: 

• Learn the importance of faculty/staff career conversations
• Be provided an overview of the Pomerantz Career Center
• Be briefly introduced to career development theory
• Be refreshed on basic helping skills to support effective career conversations
• Be introduced to a variety of career exploration resources
