Nov 15, 2024
01:30 PM - 02:30 PM

Have you heard yoga and other types of deep breathing exercises can be great tools for stress relief, but aren't really sure why or how? Journalist James Nestor felt the same way at the start of the journey that ultimately became his book Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art. Join members of the Ethno/Musicology, Music Theory, and Composition Colloquium as we discuss the contents of Breath, and try out a few basic exercises.
Use WorldCat and Interlibrary Loan to request a physical copy of Breath. View this title in InfoHawk+ to read online. Limited to one active user at a time. Dr. Sarah Suhadolnik will act as the discussion leader. People should only participate in the demonstrations of breathing exercises as their health and comfort permits. The School of Music assumes no liability for injuries.
