Presenter: Liz Gleason, Social Worker and Sam McVancel, Licensed Psychologist, Scanlan Center for School Mental Health

Description: Participants will be provided psychoeducation on grief, including different types of grief, common symptoms of grief, and how grief can manifest differently across people. Strategies that educators can use to support students who are experiencing grief and loss will be reviewed.

Learning Goals: 1) Define aspects of grief and loss. 2) Discuss various presentations of grief and loss. 3) Identify common emotions associated with grief and loss. 4) Learn ways to emotionally support students experiencing grief and loss. 5) Learn coping skills to teach students experiencing grief and loss.
