Des Moines Mini Medical School – Collaboration is Power: The Future of Cancer Clinical Trials in Iowa

Iowa has the second-highest and fastest-growing rate of cancer in the nation. What are cancer providers and experts doing to turn the tides? Join us for an interactive Mini Medical School Program to find out.
Clinical trials offer hope to patients and families affected by cancer. By participating in trials, patients can access cutting-edge treatments that could be the future standard of care. But accessing these treatments requires doctors to work together with cancer researchers to identify which patients could benefit from clinical trials and how to deliver them the care they need, no matter where they live in the state.
This evening program will help you understand cancer trends in the state; explore how collaborations between cancer researchers, doctors, and hospital systems can advance care and provide options for patients; and learn how patients can get involved.
Mini Medical School is designed to provide interactive experiences coupled with an engaging lecture breaking down cutting-edge research and biomedical discoveries at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
