Iowa City Volunteer Iowa River Flood Plain Cleanup

Volunteers will be assisting in removal of wood debris, invasive species and trash from the Iowa River flood plain. The April 28th, Stormwater Cleanup is going to be along the Iowa River Corridor as we make our way south from the McCollister Bridge. Meet at the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area parking lot, 579 McCollister Blvd, Iowa City, IA 52240, at noon for assignments. Volunteers are needed from noon to 3 PM. A range of jobs will be available to accommodate different age groups and skill levels and no experience is necessary. Please wear long pants, socks, closed toe shoes or boots (sandals or flipflops are not permitted). Gloves, tools and water will be supplied. People of all ages are encouraged to participate, but anyone under 18 years of age must have a parent sign a consent form the day of the cleanup.
