Mindfulness for Social Workers: Foundations, Resiliency, and Fulfillment

This event will deepen social workers' understanding and experience of mindfulness practice and its remarkable potential in application in the social work profession. Apply mindfulness skills to developing alliance with clients, processing and understanding the flow of emotions, and growing through adversity. Participants will learn about the variety and underlying universality of mindfulness practices, explore their own experience using mindfulness techniques, and leave with interventions to bring to your practice.

Participants who complete the workshop are eligible for 6 contact hours of credit toward social work licensure. A certificate of completion will be provided to participants.

Learning Objectives:

1) Understand the basic tenets and vision of mindfulness

2) Experience the benefits of mindfulness practice

3) Learn the application of mindfulness practice to the therapeutic relationship, treatment of common issues, and personal growth
