People began moving into Iowa over 13,000 years ago at the end of the last “ice age”. This was a time of giant land mammals, ice, and extreme cold temperatures. Learn about what Iowa was like during this period and how people adapted to the conditions. Cherie Haury-Artz Education Assistant with the Office of the State Archaeologist will share a display of a sample of real and replica artifacts from relevant time periods.
