Presented as part of the International Student-led Lecture Series, hosted by the College of Public Health International Student Advisory Board (PHISAB). This week's presentation will be presented by Fatoumata Traore, Public Health Undergraduate. This lecture will review the historical and religious context of the Talibes phenomenon - how and why it started, what it used to be like, and what it has become today.  We will also discuss the consequences and dangers of this issue for both the Talibes and the general population, as well as initiatives that are working to address the situation.
