Michael Williams was murdered by lynching in Grinnell, Iowa in 2020. His body was burned in a ditch in broad daylight. While the perpetrators have been brought to justice, none have been charged with a hate crime. Prosecutors and local officials have said the crime was “unrelated” to race. This panel brings together a few of Michael’s family members to talk about what more needs to be done for justice to be served, to honor Michael’s dignity, and to make sure such a crime never happens in Iowa again.
